Wise Advice

'What must I do to have a long life?' a villager asked Master Tze one day.

'Remember to breathe,' said the sage.

Bardumon, who had overheard the conversation, was scornful. 'Only a fool would give such an answer.'

'You are right,' said Tze. 'But it is a wise man who knows he is a fool.'
